Adding Roll Hoops?

I’ve found a thread that discusses removing roll hoops, but my question is, can they be added if the car doesn’t have them?
I like the look of the car with them and I’ve seen a couple of cars that I like but they don’t have the hoops.
Is it just a case of buying a set and bolting them in or are the ‘hoopless’ cars missing some or all of the required mounts/bolt holes etc to fit them?
Anyone help?

If you buy a complete set with all the necessary parts, then adding roll hoops is relatively straightforward and bolt-on on all Z3 built in 1997 or later.

Retrofitting is also possible for older cars with some improvising because there are no bolt holes in the chassis.

depends on the roll hoops you mention, if you buy the stainless one pc ones thay are a pain, repeat a pain to install, and requires some modifications but once you work it all out that look good.

the individual hoops are again a pain, but not as much,

i personally prefer the look of the 1pc ones

heres mine,

Thanks all. That’s helpful.
I didn’t want to rule out cars without if they could be added. I really like the look, as well as the obvious safety benefits of genuine roll hoops, so knowing it can be done is helpful.
Thanks
