The Highland Classic Motor Club organised a 'Drive it Day 2025' run in support of the NSPCC through the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs. A wide variety of classic cars from all over the Highlands gathered at the Roller Bowl in Inverness for the 44 mile run,
and set off to the first stop at Beauly to regroup. There were two of us in Z3s:
Then we motored on to Dingwall, where some more cars joined, adding up to just on 50, from a 1925 Bullnose Morris to a 2021 Lotus Exige, including a 2005 Z4:
I'm not sure if the tanker counted as a classic, but I'm sure the Transit probably did! Then it was off along the north shore of the Cromarty Firth, dropping off the A9 to go through Alness, Invergordon and Barbaraville to end up at the Shandwick Inn, where the HCMC had first met in 1979.
Coffee and biscuits were provided in the function room paid for by the club, whilst some elected to indulge in lunch. The forecast rain held off, and all hoods were down throughout, including on the way home. A most enjoyable day out.
Cheers
Paul
