Hello, I wasn't sure where to post this, but I have been having problems trying to get an INPA to work with my laptop.
I bought an old laptop with Windows XP and the correct serial port, which was recommended for connecting to an OBD1 port.
However, the issue stems from the fact that I cannot install INPA 5.0.6 as it requires .net framework 3.5 which appears to be impossible to download/install.

The car is a Z3 Roadster, year 2000, perhaps this model would work with windows 10/11 and a USB connector? I saw conflicting reports online that some worked while others did not.

How have others gotten around this? Did you install windows 7 onto an old laptop in order to use .net 3.5, or did you find a version that worked on windows xp?

Your 2000 Z3 will be all OBD2. The change was back in 1998.

I have an XP computer with service pack 3 and it runs INPA from this location OK. : https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/...tions-Experiences-Discussions-Experimentation

If that version of INPA does not work, then upgrade to WIN 7

Suggest you use the USB connection when you get INPA running
Thank you for the advice. I will give this a go and see what happens. I'll update here as, and when, I have tested it out.
