We realised we had “lost” a cover from one of the puddle lights after arriving at Shepshed.

Couldn't see it on the ground so came to the conclusion it must've come off at Ollerton. So on the way home we did a detour from Newark over to Ollerton on the off chance it was in their car park. No such luck.
When I emptied the car, guess what I found right at the front of the passenger's foot well.

So having replaced it, I'm going to attach a strip of black gaffer tape so it can't fall off again. Same with the drivers door too.

When I had my Z3 I lost a chrome surround off the passenger door inner handle too. I see a bit of a theme going here.

A few years ago I was driving my sister to an appointment when, on a bit of road well known for cars parked both sides, a woman coming the other way drifted onto my side - there was a colossal bang and my drivers mirror was pushed upto the glass on the door. I saw plastic flying off into the distance. We stopped. I exchanged a few choice words with the other driver and then went in search for the cover. Looked high and low for 25 yards in either direction. Nothing.

So, I put the mirror back in position and we continued. On the return journey about an hour later, I saw a dark shape under a 4x4 about 40 yards away from the minor collision happened. I stopped again and took a closer look.

It was the missing cover. Not only that, it was in one piece and had just a minor graze. Further, it snapped right back on.
The moral of the story? My sister drives herself =))
