    Fuel filter..... service interval?

Its also worth checking the metal fuel pipe where it bends upwards at the back, mine had rubbed on a stud and was corroded to hell...... easy to make a new one with copper/nickel pipe and at least you can form it to miss the stud ;)

Well that was silly of me!

I have made myself a bit of wood the same size as the jacking point and nailed a smaller bit on top that fits perfectly in the hole and that stops me making silly mistakes and stops the jack from damaging the plastic and from slipping :)

    spare wheel ?

Just removed mine as the wheels was rusty anyway and the frame was needing a tidy up so removed that as well and I normally have the mrs and a boot full of stuff no place for the wheel even If I did get a flat, also it catches mud and gravel and removing it would let the area breath and the...

    Cheap Performance Tips

The engine cleaner I used was BG44k and It sorted out the tick-over when you stop at a junction and made the car just much smoother than before and I believe had a hand it stopping the oil consumption problem, the biggest improvements have been the Vanos repair and the exhaust (sport cats and 2...

Anone else got a copper one?

yea I was toying with the idea of "upgrading" mine with some copper/nickel pipe that I have handy simply because handling 20 year old plastic moving it out the way etc always makes me grimace slightly, not sure I'd use just copper though because of all the hot/cold cycles and the way it corrodes...

    Fuel pipe replacement

I did both of mine in cupronickel stuff that way I knew they would not rust again then just used my brake tool to flair the ends and some stainless hose clamps and some new rubber pipe as the old stuff was passed its best, I found where the old pipe went there is a flush welded bracket thing on...

M54 Oil Consumption - two possible fixes, which one is better?

I put the full load in, need a funnel though and put it in at the garage before I filled up and its also good to start it up when its cold and turn if off again so it gets sprayed into the chambers and gets time to soak, I used it on my diesel Alfa as well with even more impressive results so...

M54 Oil Consumption - two possible fixes, which one is better?

I changed all the CCV pipes and stuff and even the O-ring on the dipstick but at the same time I put a tin of BG44K in the tank and the oil consumption went from a litre of oil per couple of hundred miles to nothing used in the last 2 years, It also stopped that "thing" the engine used to do...

next time I go out I'll get the Mrs to record something, Its nice sounding but no booming at all and gets better the higher up the rev range so not good for fuel consumption :p, I think It cost about £700 :)

https://www.infinity-exhausts.co.uk/index I have had a couple done by them now and will basically do what you ask even for difficult customers like me ;), they were going to go from 2 pipes down to one but as mine came with 2 pipes from the factory I wanted it kept that way so that it looks...

Posted before but twin pipes all the way and "sport" cats, sounds so good it makes MEN wet! and the engine feels so much more alive and quicker to pick up :)
