BMW Z3 spacers help

So I recently bought a hit 2001 BMW z3 3.0 22k miles! Car is almost fixed "just needs paint" and I was looking into buying spacers. I was thinking about buying these http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Hub-Cen...Make:BMW|Model:Z3&hash=item3cea3da8a7&vxp=mtr . Are these a good choice to make the rim be flush with the fender. Some feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mark5, those will work perfectly, you just need to workout what size spacer you require. You need to take a measurement from the outer edge of the tire to the inner lip of the wheel arch, that will give you a good indication of the size spacer you require. Hope this helps

Hi @Mark5,

The set you have linked to is a set of 4, so I am assuming you are looking to space out the front and rear?

If your car has standard wheels on it i.e. 7.5 x 17 et41 on the front and 8.5 x 17 et 41 on the rear then I think the 15mm in the kit will be too much on the front, the rears should fit flush with 20mm.

Hi Brian, 245/40/18 I think! Definitely 245/18 just not 100% if there 40 or 45's.

Ive just spaced the rear of my 2.8 running standard 7.5 front and 8.5 rear with offset of 41 i found although a 20mm spacer fitted fine on the rear it was just a tad too much. The fronts unspaced sit a few mm inside the arch lip and 20mm on the rear made the tyre/wheel just sit alittle outside the arch no biggy but at 15mm the spacing matches the front perfectly so looks stock and a lot better.
I liked the look of the rear spacing but my ocd would have had me having to get 5/10mm spacers for
the front so it all looked the same.

I had someone tell me to make sure to buy extended length, Hugh quality bolts. And to make sure they accommodate hub centric since z3s are hub centric. Are the spacers in the link have that? Sorry I'm a bit of a noob on this matter.

Hubcentic just means that the lip on the hub that your wheel centers on is replicated in the spacer so the wheel centres properly this puts less strain on the bolts as it takes the weight of the wheel

Just as Ant said there Mark. Also according to the Carweb data system we use at work the torque of the wheel bolts is between 110nm to 130 nm so I increased the torque on mine to the higher figure. Also ensure that you start ALL the bolts well by hand before applying any tools to them.

Yes mate, they come with all new 20mm extra length bolts and mine have been fine

I torqued mine to 130nm. They've been fine. Checked them 3 times since and not one had budged.

Here you go @Mark5, I took these just now to show you how mine looks with 20mm on the rears and 14mm on the front. My tyre sizes are as follows, front are 225/45x17Y and rears are 245/40x17Y.
