Are you going out on your bike today? Code for don't be getting under my feet all day
Anyway, a great few hours was had, Keswick, Ambleside, Langdale Pass, Wrynose Pass, Hardknott Pass, Birker Fell, Ulpha and the West Coast Road home, pukka
Having rode this route, and variations of, about 40 or so times I thought I'd try something new, I thought I'd test the effects of gravity and lack of forward motion on a 25% incline on a 90 degree bend going up Langdale Pass
Calling for first from second just before the bend I successfully landed in neutral which really aided my experiment, my bike and me went down like the Titanic into a ditch and I rolled about 20 feet down the hill, perfection
Bike's OK with just a few minor scuffs, no broken bones or claret, which was nice
On the upside, I've not rolled down a steep grass hill for the best part of 50 years and It could've been on a big heavy bike. If I was I'd still be there
Took a while to get her upright though

Onwards and upwards
Conclusion; a low gear and forward motion is required on steep inclines and 90 degree bends, who new
