Bought third brake light seal from BMW for garage to fit whilst car having work done, to be told it's not the right seal. Putting up the part number for someone to hopefully tell me one way or other? Long story short, it's a 1998 Z3 with a facelift rear.
Would gratefully receive any response.

Thanks
Rod.

If you bought it from BMW they likely asked you for your registration number or chassis No.

But you say you have a face lift rear? So you have a 1998 car with a much newer facelift boot lid?

Real oem doesn't list anything only the pre face-lift has a proper gasket.

The face-lift will only have rubber washers at best and maybe a wiring grommet

There is not a big hole in the boot lid on the face-lift model.

That one? I don't know if thats a seal between the lens and the body of the light. Or between the light and the bootlid on prefacelift.

Best to take yours out to see what it looks like.

And the crashing sound you just heard was @andyglym fainting. Could someone nearby nip round and put him in the recovery position?
I've developed a nervous twitch just reading that, a year, that's like a whole year 😳

Now now Niall

Granted the 2 in the drive get not too much love at the moment
But the 2 in the street get washed every week and waxed reasonably regularly.

@andyglym
Andy my crimes to zed cleaning after talking to Lynne is actually worse.
Last time either was washed would have been October 23 until about 2 weeks ago neither had had the roof cover off been started since November 23 still haven't seen inside the Dakar but couple of weeks ago curiosity got the better of me
Took Lynne's battery out the cupboard refitted took covef off passengers side to get in.
Interior pretty much spot on nothing major wrong .
Jumped across into drivers seat keys i turned it 3 turns of the starter and burst into life.

As for the Outside Lynne's nothing a quick wash and polish wouldn't fix
Dakar needs paint to various panels but the untouched previously ones are doing fine.

And i have no doubt if i chucked a battery in the dakar it would also start.
