Thanks Ant, hard to choose between the 42’s and78 ‘s but both appear to be rarely available and command prices that reflect that.

42s are usually cheaper as they are 16”. Had them on my 1.9 with 15mm spacers on the back. 78s have always been pricy and hard to find.

Shame they only come in 16’s, always think they look a bit lost on the Z3 but probably give the most comfortable ride!

Just by way of an update, I eventually settled on a staggered set of 18"MV2s.
I've stuck a set of Vredestein Ultrac Pro tyres on which seem to review well but are also supposedly quite soft so I'm hoping that may offset some of the brashness of the 18" ride.
I've not driven the car yet as I don't intend to use it until the weather picks up, but I really like the look of it now.
Thanks all for your advice and suggestions.

I still think my Staggered Style 78 18" split rims take some beating, a bit time consuming to clean but then we love it really......................

Originally an optional upgrade on the E85 Z4, they look better on a Z3. 'I've tried'.

i had those on a z4 coupe hated the things, alloy corrosion around the bolt holes, just really hard work to maintain
