Takes it very close to 3.0 performance which I suspect is why BMW did not fit the bigger manifold as standard. They would have had a hard time justifying the premium for the 3.0 over the 2.8.

I'm lead to believe it was all down the car HP, that's how they were taxed in Germany back then. Read it somewhere.

Did you change the ECU too? (And if so, did you get it from the website in the guide, and how long did it take to arrive?)

I am currently gathering parts to do the same thing later this year.
No I did not swap the ECU. There isn’t really aftermarket custom ECU for m52b25tu. At least I couldn’t find any. I will just get the ECU re-mapped.
