You only way you can claim a refund is by turning up at their offices with a gun =)) =))

..... In Bristol! Legalised theft

What did my noodle in last time I was there was the amount of 20mph zones. Not a fan . . .

I'm there next week, I'll try and stay out of the ULEZ zone although hopefully I'm exempt. I'm a car driver so I know I'm not welcome in the City Centre, so I'll do my best to comply . . .

What Z is it Andy? My wife’s 3.0 and sons Z4 3.0 are both exempt from the charge atm! My super clean 1.6 tdi Caddy thats13 years younger isn’t, makes no sense to anyone. Don’t even start us off on the 20 mph Zones.
How a stranger to Bristol can navigate through the City Centre is beyond me 🤷‍♂️

20 miles an hour won't be zones in Wales, it will be the norm...once people start driving at 20 mph they will see the light

I stopped in Bristol on the way to Cornwall last year…next time we’ll all just wet ourselves in the car. I think it will be less painful.

see my comments from a web chat with TFL that I posted on the Ulez poll thread its absolutely chaos no wonder people are getting caught out, yesterday morning my Daily driver was exempt and yet last night it wasn't and that's a Euro 6 according to Suzuki but not TFL

it gets even more confusing having spoken to a TFL rep via webchat it can seemingly change on a day by day basis as there website is updated daily via the DVLA , this car was registered on the 15th sept 2015 so in theory it should be exempt I pay £24 a year road tax based on emissions , and according to Suzuki its euro 6 , so one day your exempt and the next day your not, it seems a fiasco

Madness, Bristol used to be such a good place to live, like many place’s it’s been taken over by self serving politicians and an unelected Mayor.
As for the Z , I’ve just completed a rear end rebuild that should last as long as we’re able to drive! No EV for me if I can help it, apart from the cost I have a Hybrid work van that’s the most unreliable vehicle I’ve had the pleasure of driving in my 47 years of holding a license.

Is that emissions per individual car that AI searches through MOT data for details of or a blanket one data for all?
There’s a CAZ operating in Birmingham. Clean Air Zone. I simply won’t go in because a quick check states a £8 per day charge which I won’t pay especially given the potholes in and around Birmingham. Had a few instances where I’ve driven in an arch to get to the other side of Birmingham via the motorway and I’m sure plenty more people will look and do look at avoiding these CAZ charges. I know it makes no sense to drive a longer route to avoid this charge and yes, that means more emissions into the atmosphere but I’m not paying what tanamounts to yet another tax. I feel for the small businesses having to go into the City each day that operate non-compliance CAZ vehicles.
Steps off soapbox 😂

I’ll not drive to London, Bristol, Birmingham, Sheffield, Glasgow or indeed anywhere that has one in my exempt Velar or electric iPace, out of principle. You want clean air? You got it but you’ll also not get my money spent in your area either.
It’s time to get these eco thugs out of office and stop the continual lies, your engine is dirty unless you pay us, and then it magically becomes clean for a day.

As this seems to be a scheme to get older cars off the road as on average most of these older cars probably have a life left of say 4/5 years i wonder if any one has worked out how its carbon footprint taking into its account its co2 emission compare to the disposal recycle, and supply of a later/car ?

Not even sure how that works? Why do you have to pay for a 2.8 but not the 3.0 🤔
Andy's 2.8 is the earlier euro 2 single vanos engine. ( single cat single lambda)
Even my later 2.8 tu ( which is euro 3 set up twin cat quad lambda) still not exempt .
Your 3.0 even though by age is euro 3 it was built with the up and coming euro 4 legislation in mind as it was to carry on in production as euro 4 came into effect so engine should be cleaner than the earlier 2.8 etc

@andyglym you have my sympathy on that.
I have 4 cars in household 3 zeds ( all by age euro 2 :( and a 2015 skoda superb diesel which is euro 5 :(
And the ironic thing is in Glasgow ulez historic vehicle exempt at 30 yrs old so Lynne's zed the worst polluter of the zeds will be the first allowed back in :banghead::banghead::facepalm:
