Play in driveline

There's a bit of play in the drive line of my Z3 3.0.
You only really notice it when changing from first to second gear, when in traffic, there seems to be some slack being taken up.
Where is this play likely to be. And can it be removed or is it normal?

Its quite common and alot of people have it removing/ improving it by different means
It vould be diff backlash normally improves alittle when warm.
The Diff bush can delaminate causing the diff to kick alittle more than normal.
The drive shaft coupling (the Guibo) can wear out too.
In my case i removed most of it with a diff bush swap but you tend to find that drive style changes to stop it.
