Archived Scotland Trip 26th - 29th August 2016

I have started this thread now the dates have been picked, I'll ask the mods to lock the old on and I will keep this up to date, Looking to take advantage of the August Bank Holiday the dates will be Friday 26th to Monday 29th August.

Hopefully with a good few people travelling from the south the format will be something like this: -

Friday - Make your way North (or south) to the hotel for late afternoon early evening, then evening meal etc.
Saturday - Day trip out and about TBC, lunch on the hop and back to the hotel for evening meal etc.
Sunday - Day trip out and about TBC, lunch on the hop and back to the hotel for evening meal etc.
Monday - Depart and Leisurely trip back home

I'll look to block book rooms at a hotel in a week or so when I have a few more names.

We had quite a list on the last thread with interested people, now the dates have been added can you please re-enter your name below.

Andy, a few of us [ @Mint , @Bazza , @zedwheels ] are staying around the Penrith area on the Thursday night ready for the trip up on the Friday. Perhaps you could join us....

Me the Mistress and the wife are interested - however instructions from the wife I can not drive like an nutter - so looking for an surdate drive

However for wales I be swimming in Nuttela as me and mistress only

Hi Andy, me and Mrs have booked a room at the Cross Keys Inn, Tebay, which is about an hour south of where Mint
is staying. Because of the distance of the drive up I thought that was far enough for the first day! Not sure yet but Duncan
has mentioned he may stay here too! I reserved on Booking.com for £80 inc. breakfast they do have a twin available for
£63 but it doesn't have a private bathroom! Just letting you know so you can decide if that's suitable to your plans. We will
drive up then to meet Mint on the Friday morning to cruise up into Scotland together.

Thanks mate, I live on the West Coast of Cumbria so I'll drive to the Mints Travelodge near Penrith on the day at an agreed time, it's only circa 1hr from my house. See you then, then.

You would be most welcome, drive as fast as you like, meet up points along the route will allow us all to catch up.

@Brian H really sorry but I'm going to have to bail out my overseas 3 year secondment has come through earlier than expected (1st September) so it would be bad form to be away from the family on my last weekend. B****r!
