Hi all - newbie to the forum here!

Have owned my Z4 Coupe 3.0si for just under three years now.

Was planning to go to the Silverstone Festival with a friend on the Saturday, and spotted this thread by chance, so signed up to the forum - hope it’s okay to tag along to the display on Saturday!

Over the Festival weekend, Motorsport UK are running an AutoSOLO challenge for some friendly inter-club rivalry.


Members joining your club’s display over the event can put their driving skills to the test against other car club members, representing your club in an AutoSOLO. This is the chance to test precision as members navigate their cars around cones and compete against the clock to get bragging rights!

We expect to get to Silverstone mid afternoon Friday . I will call at the stand on arrival and will be on display Saturday and Sunday. Staying at Northampton so unlikely to get to Whitchurch Friday but will catch up during the day

Had no water in my area so apologies I am not on the stand yet
Just met @Mac Romans to give him our clubs little gazebo so he will be over shortly to organise you all
Unfortunately the coupe won't be there today so bringing Panther and hopefully have the coupe sorted for tomorrow

Hope peeps have very deep pockets

We did CF in the early days. £180 for a day entry, 2 adults and a toddler. The following year they wanted just over £800 to camp with no EHU, plus day entry. We then found out how little goes to charity, through a mate who did the exotic supercar drives where he had to give everything to CF not his charity.

Silverstone will want their cut on top of any CF charges.

Agree with that. Prices likely to increase. I live just down the road from the carfest site. Stopped going in the early days partly because it was overpriced with a silly scramble for tickets but I also found the audience was different, some not really appreciative or respectful of the cars on display.. the types that say its just a car so its fine for their little darlings to crawl all over it with ice-cream covered fingers. Hope I'm wrong and this event doesn't get ruined. Maybe Silverstone will bring a different audience in and keep the enthusiasts. I hope so. Looking forward to enjoying it again this year. Jeez... Turning into a grumpy old t**t.

From what silverstone have said they're going to reinstate the classic, "how it used to be", alongside car fest on 2 separate weekends. So there's potential for the 2 "crowds" to be separated out a bit and both enjoy the cars. At least that's my outlook on it
