I currently have the intake off my 1998 z3 2.8 TU to change the crankcase ventilation and other rubber hoses

I felt it might be good to recondition my starter motor as it is original (i think)

Can the motor brushes be changed?
If so, is it worth doing while I have easy access?

Is there any other reconditioning I could do to it?

Thanks Chris

Personally, if the starter motor is working OK I would leave well alone.
My Z3 and E36 are both on well over 140K miles on original motors and are fine.(touch wood!).
