Hey all

My 2005 Z4 2.5i has a new Robbins top which has been great, however, the installer used a drill to tighten the shoulder screws that attach the front listing (plastic lip) of the top to the front metal top frame which then stripped out most of the holes. To hold the screws in place, he used some kind of bonding agent... arrgh. While at it, some of the clips that hold the plastic interior trim were broken and the only way to replace those clips is to unscrew the shoulder screws, peel back the front of the top, drop new clips in, then reattach the shoulder screws into the stripped out screw holes.

Just in case, I bought a used front metal top frame (header) piece on Ebay that has good screw holes. My question is this: is it super complicated to replace the metal top frame header? Is this a big can of worms to replace, potentially causing issues with top strap tension, etc? Or, is it basically straight forward and plug-n-play?

Also, does anyone know what the shoulder screw part #s are? I know there are 12 screws, but I can't find them anywhere on realoem or any other site. I suspect they come in a "fastener kit", but I'd be guessing on which kit to buy.... Alternatively, if anyone has any of those shoulder screws laying around, I'd be happy to buy them off of you.

Do you think Zed Shed would be able to assist with the parts and instructions for replacing the front metal top frame?

Thanks!!
