So, a little about myself and the the beloved car...
I’ll be brief about me and concentrate on what matters.
I live in the Channel Islands and since retiring spend my time being a moderator on a military forum, gardening and sorting out the usual family issues that arise.
The car:
Purchased in Amsterdam, in the days before they hit us with import duties, in 2000.
Z3 2.8l
Mileage at present: 13345
Over the past month I have been recommissioning
Her as she has been sidelined due to some of those family issues rearing up their ugly heads and a few problems with the car.
Anyway, probably a good time to take my hat off and thank this community for, and even though you didn’t know it, the help you gave me in the research process which has enabled me to finally get the z back on the road...and, you know what, I had forgotten what a little beauty she is to drive.

Works done:
DOBII diagnostic scan: errors - camshaft position sensor (intake), electronic thermostat.
Replacement of electronic thermostat: BEHR (mahle) 11 531 437 040
Replacement of camshaft position sensor (intake): BMW 12 147 539 165
DOBII diagnostic scan: clear codes
Replacement windscreen washer bottle: BMW

Service:
Replacement of battery: BMW
Replacement of Spark plugs: NGK BKR6EQUP - as per original factory fitment
Drain fuel tank and replace fuel
Replacement of fuel filter: Mann WK 516/1
Replacement of air filter: Bosch S 3004
Replacement of oil engine filter: Mann HU925/4X
Replacement of engine oil: Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40
Replacement of gearbox oil: Fuchs Titan Sintofluid SAE 75W-80
Replacement of differential oil: Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W-140
Replacement of brake/clutch fluid + bleeding of systems
Replacement of windscreen wipers: Bosch Super Plus (spoiler) 20’s
Pumped tyres to correct pressure: (F) 29 (R) 32

Which brings me to the last jobby, and a question.

Correct ATF oil for a power steering flush?

So many makes/types, and of course opinions on the intaweb that it hurts my little brain.
So, over to my fellow Z lovers.
Thanks, in advance
John

I used to work on a cruise ship for Caesars Atlantic City. It was a casino on the ship. We had stopped at La Harve in France. I took the train to Paris but on the way back wasn't sure which train to take back and almost missed the ship. They pulled the gang plank 2 minutes after I got on board. As a result, they pulled my crew card at the next port which was Jersey. I had wanted to go there because I heard it was a nice place and that was where Sean Connery was supposed to live. So I never got to see the island.............Frankie

Welcome from Mansfield, do you get over to France on the Condor much being so close? We adore St Malo. So wish it was on my doorstep.

so still on ye olde bucket list....you missed out...that will teach you for not getting up a bit earlier.
I was at the train station in Paris looking for the train that had a certain name on the front of it. It was the name of the location at the end of it's run. One train had this name along with another name and I thought, incorrectly, that I needed the train with just the one name that I needed. The train left and I realized I needed to be on it to make the ship on time. The next train got me there to the station about 9 minutes before the ship left. I got a taxi and screamed to the driver the whole time he was driving that I couldn't miss the ship and it would have been my responsibility to get to the ship at the next port which was in Morocco. The driving he did looked like something from the movie 'The French Connection'. He really drove down to and through the port area like a madman. I though I was going to die of a heart attack BEFORE I got to the ship. As I was never late before, the officers on the ship thought I had gotten mugged or in a accident or sick. Wow! What a night.................Frankie

@Grumps... soz, tend to waffle on....tend to go to Dinard, via St.Marlo.... If you you’ve never been, great food, nice beach.

@ Frankie...blame it on those French cab drivers.
Never mind, don’t stress....breathe :)

After a bit more research I bit the bullet and this afternoon I ordered the above, or below, wherever the pic lands....
So hard to get anything needed locally.
